Manhattanhenge

The name is “Manhattanhenge”. Two times a year the setting sun aligns perfectly with the grid of the east-west streets in Manhattan, New York, making a spectacular site that practically makes the city appear “on fire. Known as the Manhattanhenge. There is a similar occurrence that takes place during the solstices at Stonehenge in the UK.  Manhattanhenge draws thousands into the streets to experience the unique sunset. I’ve had the privilege of the experience and I stumbled on a photo of this online that reminded me of how really cool it was to see the colors it created on all the materials the buildings were made of.
