The Air we Breathe is part of a series called Geodynamics a subfolder of Geophysics. A collection of heavy textured acrylic pieces depicting just what is involved in creating and sustaining our air and the planet we live. You will see our atmosphere, tectonic plates, our oceans and more. Tectonic forces and photosynthesis are responsible for creating the majority of the air in our atmosphere. Tectonic forces, which also create mountains, volcanoes, earthquakes, and tsunamis, created the air billions of years ago. Volcanoes near active tectonic plate boundaries also release large amounts of nitrogen into the air. All of this continues to evolve and sustain our planet. SKU: 24-045
